Used as regional medicine in ancient Tsukuba, Gama no abura is said to have been by kneading plants and animals such as toads and medicinal herbs together. It was a man named Nagai Hyosuke, the first generation of oil sellers, who began the sale of this oil during the Edo time period. After that, the selling of oil spread nationally and was sold all over Japan. Currently, the selling of Mount Tsukuba's toad oil is certified as an intangible folklore cultural asset accredited to Tsukuba city.

Overview
Hitachinokuni Furusato-Taiko group was founded in 1977. The leader, Takashi Hirai, researched Japanese folk performing arts and folk music in general. From his research he was able to create a fast and light melodies and brave, magnificent melodies that seeped into the listeners organs. He also tailored the original and brave songs of "Furosato Taiko"

Overview
The history of Yoshinuma Hayashi is old and it goes back almost 600 years. It is said that the taiko played during the separation of a spirit from Kashima shrine became the accompaniment we know today. Also, the accompaniment that was passed down by the youth of Yoshinuma and is used in today's Yoshinuma Festival, is said to have been used in 1935 during the Yoshinuma Festival that was held to wish for good health and good crops for the year.
Based on performances at the "Yoshinuma Gion Festival" and the "Matsuri Tsukuba", the main activities include events organized by Tsukuba City and attractions at international exchange parties in Tsukuba City. Also, while actively participating in various festivals in Tokyo, efforts are being put in on training successors.
